TOP TEN REASONS

FOR NOT GOING TO CHURCH

#10 I don't own a tie or a pair of heels.

You don't have to dress up. Please come dressed comfortably and we will welcome you just as you are. This is worship, not People Magazine's best dressed list. And we believe that you can worship in jeans just as well as in your best suit (if you own one?).

#9 The church walls will fall down if I walk in.

Aw, no. If church walls had mouths, they would smile and welcome you. And since they don't, let us do that.

#8 Organized religion doesn't do anything for me.

Of course it doesn't. Who has ever been loved by a religion? We believe in a loving, living God, not "religion".

#7 Church is boring.

Try us! You might be in for a pleasant surprise. Faith definitely is NOT boring and we will do everything in God's and our power to share it with you with enthusiasm.

#6 I won't know anyone.

Neither did most of us when we first came here. But strangers spoke to us, and we'll speak to you. And who knows?..maybe you will meet someone you know.

#5 Church people think that they have it all

figured out.

All of us, even "church-y" people, are on a spiritual journey, and we continue to grow by questioning throughout our lives. Because, if we're not growing, we're not living.

#4 Church people are clueless.

Some people think that church has nothing to do with REAL life. We strive to share a faith message which offers hope for abundant life right where YOU are in your day-to-day struggles. If church doesn't deal with reality, what's the point?

#3 I'm just not comfortable with the idea of church.

Many of us weren't either, with our memories of what church "used to be". So we've made this service comfortable, interesting and memorable. With contemporary music, drama, multi-media, and even some laughter.

#2 I don't need someone telling me I'm doing

everything wrong.

Who does? We understand God to be the One who loves us, heals us and transforms us, and teaches us to love, not criticizes us when we're trying!

AND

The #1 reason for not going to church.....

Sunday morning is the only morning I can sleep in.

Whoa! Did we ever blow holes in this one. Our service begins at 6:46 Sunday evening (and lasts one hour). Yes, it is 6:46, not just to be cute, but to make it easy to remember.

So...., can you be up and awake by 6:46 PM. Because if you can, we'll welcome you!
